this is the drawing from sketchtravel. it was a low res copy to begin with. i added grey as ive done with rob for his pitures in the past, before i pass them back to rob for him to do the final pass. i just did it so the figures pop out in the scene. it is not a finished color or shading job, just my attempt to sort through this great piece of work.

Robert Valley’s short animated film”Massive Swerve” will be available on DVD for free for anyone who purchases the book of the same title. The 2007 Massive Swerve book is a collection of short stories from the last 5 years, some of which have been printed in Heavy Metal, some have never even seen the light of day. 100 pages full color. massive, mind bending story BOY ZERO appears in this months HEAVY METAL magazine and it is really, really worth picking up. rob worked super extra hard on these pages and they are just stunning.

soon well post many of the original sketches that went into making this thing - i am very impressed with how long robert will work a page, how many times it will change and evolve - always getting better, more interesting ... BOY ZERO could be the coolest thing ive ever seen the man do in the printed medium and i promise if you like roberts are you will dig on this.

ALSO

robert has printed teh new book and orders will ship soon. hell go to the comic con too, and sell them there ... but wed love to get some online orders and hear back from people.

if youre in vancouver theres a comic shop on main and 8th that sells comics for the american dollar price printed on the cover - a good deal, very cool of them. but everyone GET THIS ISSUE !

the original run of the latest version of the massive swerve book has sold out.

also, we pulled the one we had off of lulu because the newest one was much better quality.

NOW, THE GOOD NEWS - rob is in hong kong right now - or will be soon - and is looking for a new printer. A NEW RUN will be printed to celebrate the publication of a comic story in a MAJOR COMIC FANTASY MAGAZINE. soooo -
